Bill Gates, along with tycoon George Soros, acquired a company engaged in the Corona test, where it could be done in a short time. How much money was spent?
The buyers are a consortium owned by Soros, The Soros Economic Development Fund (SEDF) with the support of the Bill &Melinda Gates Foundation and several other philanthropic investors. The company that was annexed was UK-based Mologic.
From Mobile Health News, Thursday (7/22/2021) Mologic developed a test kit to help fight diseases, especially those from tropical areas such as dengue fever and coronavirus COVID-19. The purchase value of Mologic is USD 41 million.
Mologic's purchase goal is to provide more affordable access to healthcare devices around the world. Bill Gates himself did try to play a lot of role in tackling health problems including the Corona pandemic.
"Testing or diagnosis is vital for public health, so doctors and medical professionals can provide care as early as possible," said Roxana Binnell, a public health expert with the Open Society Foundations.
"As we saw during the CVID-19 pandemic, access to testing tools is absolutely essential to control the spread of this infectious disease that ultimately impacts all of us," he added.
After his divorce from Melinda and various unpleasant issues such as infidelity with Microsoft employees, Bill Gates recently seemed to reduce public speaking including discussing the Corona virus. However, with the news of this acquisition, it is certain that he is still actively involved in wanting to play a role.
