Manchester United has officially released its new home jersey for the 2021/2022 season. The model was branded ordinary, here's how it looks.
MU introduced its new home jersey on Thursday (7/15/2021). Adidas, as the manufacturer of the jersey, claims its look is a classic modern model.
The jersey was indeed inspired by the 1980s model. That was when MU and Adidas first collaborated.
The jersey does have a simple design, with only a straight line motif on the front. In front of him, is the inscription of his new jersey sponsor, TeamViewer.
The Daily Mail reports that TeamViewer will see Manchester United pocket 235 million pounds, or 47 million pounds per season over the next five years. It became the biggest sponsor that sports teams negotiated in the midst of the pandemic.
On the jersey, it also had the words 'Young, Brave, Successful,' on the inside of his neck. Then behind it, there's a picture of the Red Devil.
Previously, the jersey had been criticised by MU legend Gary Neville. According to him, the model of the jersey is too basic or standard.
'I tend to love every United home kit, but I don't like this one at all! (If it's a cage jersey). Am I being rude?" he tweeted last month.
"The sponsor is not right, his arm is not right, and just feel ordinary without showing the legacy of the club. Agree or not?" he tweeted.
In the 2021/2022 season, Manchester United will go through the season as Premier League runners-up. A new player has also been recruited, namely Jadon Sancho, where MU has reached an agreement with Borussia Dortmund.
