Richard Branson Congratulates

Richard Branson, the owner of Virgin Galactic, will fly into space on July 11, U.S. time. Despite the slips, the world's richest man Jeff Bezos congratulated Branson and wished him luck.

Bezos first announced he would be flying into space on Blue Origin's first manned flight on July 20. But last week Branson announced that he would be going into space on July 11, nine days earlier than Bezos's flight.

"@richardbranson, wish you and the entire flight team a successful and safe life. Best of luck," Bezos wrote on his official Instagram account.

Jeff Bezos even posted a large photo of Branson. The post received over 114 thousand Likes and many comments. "Respect" mentions one of the followers in the comment field.

Earlier, Branson stated there was no competition between them. "I know there won't be anyone who believes it when I say it, but honestly, there's no competition," Branson said in an interview with the Today program.

Branson will fly into space aboard the VSS Unity aircraft to sub-orbital altitude. He claimed to be impatient to be able to fly like an astronaut.

Branson will not fly alone, and he will be accompanied by three Virgin Galactic employees namely Chief Astronaut Instructor Beth Moses, Lead Operations Engineer Colin Bennett, and Vice President of Government Affairs and Research Operations Sirisha Bandla.

While Virgin Galactic and Blue Origin both offer sub-orbital flights, the journeys offered by the two companies have many differences.

For example, Blue Origin will fly its passengers using rockets and capsules, while Virgin Galactic uses VSS Unity which looks similar in shape to a plane. Jeff Bezos's Blue Origin flight will also reach a higher point than Virgin Galactic.
