James Gunn Reacts After Seeing Tweets for Iron Man

Recently a tumultuous article was made by The Sunday Times about anyone could have been Iron Man. Director James Gunn reacted when he saw the tweet.

In its tweet, The Sunday Times alluded to Marvel as well as the characters in it being more prominent than acting abilities. Annoyed by the tweet, James Gunn replied.

I've seen the screen test, this (tweet) is really, he replied.

Some screen tests conducted by Robert Downey Jr while being Iron Man have gone viral on social media. But that's not all and there's so much more stored in Marvel that James Gunn seems to have witnessed.

It's no secret, too, that top actors such as Tom Cruise, Sam Rockwell, and Timothy Olyphant were scrambling to get iron man characters. And it was only Downey who was perfect in his portrayal.

The man who is currently busy promoing suicide squad movie also explained how the process that happened inside Marvel to execute the movie Iron Man.

According to him, at that time there were a lot of famous directors who were interested in working on the film. But Kevin Feige and the team instead chose Jon Favreau who is still known as a director of indie films.

The film's stakes were enhanced by the selection of Robert Downey Jr. as its main star. At that time he was still in trouble with his dependence on drugs until he briefly spent time in prison.

Not only that, the man who is familiarly called RDJ also never appeared in action films so many people doubted him. Jon Favreau convinced everyone that his best friend was the right man to play Tony Starks or Iron Man.

And that trust was reciprocated by Robert Downey Jr. He managed to make the superhero figure so alive for more than a decade, before deciding to retire after Avengers Endgame.

As Iron Man and the leader of marvel superheroes, he is admired and respected by other stars. Not only in front of the camera, he also became the one who convinced Chris Evans to take on the role of Captain America.

In addition, he also became an unofficial mentor of Tom Holland, both in Marvel films and in real life.
